PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Program Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of Junior Achievement of Dallas's in-class learning experiences. This position manages relationships with schools, educators, volunteers, community organizations, and other partners to ensure students receive high-quality, relevant, and engaging educational experiences.
The Program Manager manages the day-to-day execution of an assigned portfolio of in-class programming, including school and partner engagement, program scheduling and logistics, part-time staff supervision, volunteer coordination, data management, quality assurance, and achievement of annual student and program goals.
This position works closely with the Volunteer Engagement Manager to communicate volunteer needs for assigned programs and supports volunteers throughout the program experience. Volunteer recruitment is led by the Volunteer Engagement Manager.
This is a hybrid position suitable for a collaborative, solutions-oriented professional who is passionate about education and expanding economic mobility for young people.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Planning & Implementation
Develop and carry out plans for assigned educational programs, including identifying the schools
and students to be served, coordinating program schedules and delivery, and determining the parttime
staff and volunteer support needed. Ensure programs are appropriately resourced, completed,
and documented accurately and on time.
Coordinate program schedules and logistics with schools, educators, community partners,
volunteers, part-time staff, and internal teams.
Ensure JA educational programs are delivered consistently and according to organizational
standards while responding appropriately to participant and partner needs.
Anticipate and troubleshoot scheduling, staffing, volunteer, technology, material, and other
implementation challenges to minimize disruption to programming.
Coordinate the preparation, distribution, tracking, and return of program materials and resources,
as applicable.
Support programming across a variety of learning environments and delivery models, including
programming that may occur outside traditional business hours.
Relationship Management & Stewardship
Develop and maintain positive relationships with school districts, school administrators, educators,
community organizations, and other partners to support and expand access to JA educational
experiences throughout the JA Dallas service area.
Develop annual engagement plans for new and existing partners.
Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned partners, providing timely communication and a
high level of partner service throughout program planning and implementation.
Collaborate with partners to plan and implement educational experiences that meet established
program objectives and respond to community needs.
Identify opportunities to strengthen partner engagement, program delivery, and overall impact.
Part-Time Staff Supervision & Volunteer Coordination
Onboard, train, schedule, supervise, and support part-time program staff assigned to programs
under the Manager's responsibility to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery.
Provide ongoing coaching and direction to part-time program staff and ensure adherence to JA
policies, procedures, and program standards.
Partner with the Volunteer Engagement Manager to identify and communicate volunteer needs for
assigned programs. Volunteer recruitment is led by the Volunteer Engagement Manager.
Coordinate with and support volunteers before and during program implementation, including
providing program information, resources, training, schedules, and ongoing communication
necessary for successful program delivery.
Create welcoming, organized, and meaningful experiences for volunteers, program participants,
part-time staff, and partners.
Program Quality, Data & Evaluation
Maintain accurate and timely program, partner, participant, staff, and volunteer information within
JA's CRM and other designated systems.
Track progress toward established participation, volunteer, learning experience, and other program
goals and proactively identify areas requiring additional attention.
Administer and support the collection of surveys, evaluations, and other measurement tools used
to assess program outcomes, stakeholder experiences, and organizational impact.
Monitor program quality through observation, communication, stakeholder feedback, and other
quality-assurance practices.
Review program data and stakeholder feedback to identify trends and recommend improvements
to program implementation and participant and partner experiences.
Prepare program updates, reports, and data as needed for Education leadership and other internal
stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Development, Volunteer Engagement, Marketing, and other internal teams to
align program needs, partner engagement, volunteer support, funding commitments, and
organizational priorities.
Provide timely information regarding upcoming programming, staffing and volunteer needs, partner
activity, and program outcomes to appropriate internal stakeholders.
Support the fulfillment and tracking of program-related commitments associated with funded
partnerships and communicate implementation progress and outcomes to appropriate internal
teams.
Participate in team planning, organizational events, and special initiatives as needed.
Represent Junior Achievement of Dallas professionally with schools, businesses, community
organizations, volunteers, program participants, and other external stakeholders.
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
preferred.
Relevant professional experience in education programming, youth development, nonprofit
program management, community engagement, project management, or a related field preferred.
Experience supervising, coaching, or providing day-to-day direction to staff.
Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships and collaborate effectively with a variety of
stakeholders.
Strong project-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs,
partners, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, both in person and virtually.
Solution-oriented team player, critical thinker, and creative problem solver.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data management and reporting.
Comfortable learning and utilizing CRM platforms, educational technology, and other software
systems.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet established goals
and deadlines.
Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the Junior Achievement of Dallas service
area to support programming and partner engagement.
Maintain a flexible schedule to support program needs, including occasional evening programming.
Transport and organize program materials, including kits, tablets, and lesson materials, as needed
for program delivery.
Ability to lift and carry program materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
